Heavy muscle car hitters were pouring out of the Big Three’s factories in the 1960s and Dodge wanted their drivers to be ready for any kind of straight-line romp. For 1967 they offered their Coronet R/T which came equipped with a brutish 440-Magnum V8 paired with a special 4-barrel carb. Other mods included a heavy-duty suspension, wider brakes and high-performance tires. It was a great combination for lead-foot enthusiasts who were ‘hunting for trophy-winning performance that handles beautifully’ as this vintage ad depicts.
